Welcome to One Dharma Nashville

Special Announcement: We have moved from the 12 South Dharma Center. All Monday and Thursday meetings are now held at Healing Well Yoga, 3808 Park. This is a quiet and spacious studio. Our Saturday Introduction to Meditation Classes are now held at Vanderbilt Center for Integrative Health. See full location information at the bottom of our practice schedule page.

One Dharma Nashville is an integrative Buddhist meditation and study group founded in 2006 by meditation teacher Lisa Ernst, who wished to offer a contemporary Buddhist sangha that also maintains its roots in traditional teachings and practices. One Dharma is at the forefront of Western Buddhism, where we have access to all of the great dharma traditions that were once segregated by geography in the East. Each of these  traditions, Theravada, Zen and Tibetan, offer teachings and practices such as lovingkindness, compassion and mindfulness, that can help us realize true freedom in our own lives.

We meet Monday nights, 7 - 8:30 for meditation, dharma talk and discussion. Everyone is welcome, from the curious beginner to the experienced practitioner. We also offer a twice monthly Saturday Introduction to Meditation class plus a variety of classes and meetings on Thursday nights as well as retreats and workshops. You can see our full schedule by clicking here.

One Dharma's mission is to ensure that the practice of meditation and the joy of awakening are accessible to all who seek it.We encourage diversity and are committed to providing a welcoming and supportive practice refuge to people from all backgrounds. Lisa Ernst, One Dharma's guiding teacher, studied and practiced with InsightLA's founder and guiding teacher,Trudy Goodman, for many years before receiving teaching authorization from her in 2005 and formal dharma transmission in 2010.

Our next daylong meditation retreat, Resting in Openhearted Awereness, is Saturday August 27; also check out our October special event weekend with David Loy. Visit Lisa's blog with her teaching schedule for upcoming classes & retreats.
