In this time of social upheaval and global pandemic, what role does joy play? Can we learn to nurture joy from within, in this moment? In this half-day retreat, we will explore these topics and how they relate to current events together through meditation (guided and silent), teachings, and group discussion.
The schedule will include periods of sitting meditation, walking meditation, a dharma talk, group discussion, and breaks.
All you need is a quiet space in your home, a comfortable chair or cushion, and a device with an internet connection for Zoom. This retreat is offered on a sliding scale from $1 up to $50, please pay at the maximum of what you can to support those who may not be as able to pay much right now.

The retreat will be led by Jennifer Wang, who is a facilitator for One Dharma’s Saturday Meditation Gathering and for our People of Color sangha. Jennifer has been a regular practitioner of mindfulness and meditation for over 12 years. She has completed numerous retreats, both residential and non-residential, in the Insight, Shambhala and Plum Village traditions, including the monthlong silent retreat at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Spring of 2019.
