Whistler, BC Retreat

August 5–9

Led by Lisa Ernst, assisted by Jeff Samuels

Welcome

Join us this August just outside of Whistler, British Columbia—one of the most breathtaking
mountain destinations in the world. Nestled between towering peaks, alpine lakes,
and evergreen forests, the Whistler area offers a rare blend of wild beauty and ease:
quiet moments in nature combined with a lovely retreat center and a warm group of practitioners.

This retreat is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with
yourself, with others, and with the natural world.

Touching the Earth: Joy and Interconnection in Nature

This five day retreat emphasizes insight practice grounded in silence, simplicity, and sustained contact with the natural world. Through sitting and walking meditation, we explore how the sense of self is formed moment by moment—and how it relaxes when experience is met through direct, sustained awareness.

As attention settles, the distinction between self and environment softens. Nature becomes not an object of attention, but part of the same unfolding field of experience. From this seeing, ease and joy arise naturally as expressions of interconnection.

This retreat, held at Sea to Sky Retreat Center, will include periods of sitting and walking meditation, instructions, dharma talks, optional private meetings with the teacher and Q&A. It is suitable for all levels of experience.
